I was nominated by the people I advise

When I found out I’d been nominated for Financial Adviser of the Year at the VouchedFor 2026 Awards, it came as a complete surprise.

I hadn’t put myself forward. In fact, the nomination came directly from client feedback, including the reviews people had already left and the conversations VouchedFor had with some of the people I advise.

That meant a huge amount to me. 

When clients stay with you, trust you through change, and tell other people your work has made a difference, it says something powerful about the relationships you’ve built. It’s what I’ve always wanted Bedrock Private Wealth to stand for.

For me, financial advice is ultimately about helping clients improve their quality of life, feeling more confident about the future, and making decisions that support the goals that matter most to them. I’ve found this same client-first philosophy reflected in many of the conversations I’ve had with advisers across the ValidPath community.

My philosophy is simple: if they succeed, we succeed.

Receiving this nomination gave me an opportunity to reflect on the values that have guided my career and how they’ve helped me build a business centred around the people I serve.

That’s why ValidPath has been such a good fit for my firm. Their motto, Independence is Everything™, sums up exactly what I was looking for in an IFA Network: the freedom to keep my advice, my business, and my client relationships fully aligned.

I built Bedrock around real human relationships

I’ve always worked in finance. 

I was born and raised in Canada and built a diverse international career that included time on Wall Street in the US, service in the public sector with the US government, and roles across private equity, hedge funds, and wealth management. After moving to the UK, I advised a significant number of clients at large firms and gained experience across a broad range of financial planning and investment needs.

Eventually, I knew it was time to build something of my own.

Financial advice is personal. You’re helping people make decisions that affect their family, retirement, children, legacy and peace of mind.

When I launched Bedrock Private Wealth, all of the clients I’d worked with previously chose to come with me. That was incredibly humbling. It reinforced the trust we’d built together and gave me confidence that a genuinely client-first approach could form the foundation of a successful business.

Today, I work with over 150 clients, and the business continues to grow through referrals and existing relationships. To me, that’s one of the strongest measures of success in our profession: clients introducing you to the people they care about most.

Independence allows me to do the right work for my clients

As Bedrock grew, I wanted a structure that would allow me to remain focused on delivering high-quality advice while maintaining complete independence in how I serve my clients.

That meant finding a network that would support the business without compromising the way I work.

ValidPath gave me both. I could stay independent in my advice, use the systems and compliance support around me, and keep my focus where it should be: on the client.

I joined ValidPath in November 2025, and the transition was very smooth. The team helped with the practical aspects of running the business, from compliance and back-office processes to administration, marketing and ValidPath’s technology.

Having the flexibility to meet those requirements is important because every client is different. My role is to understand their circumstances, values and objectives, and then build solutions around them rather than forcing them into a standard framework.

Looking ahead

My VouchedFor nomination reflects the relationships behind the advice: clients who feel listened to, supported and confident that their financial future is being shaped around their needs.

That’s what I want Bedrock Private Wealth to continue to represent as we grow.

We exist to help clients make better decisions, feel more confident, and improve their quality of life. The nomination is a meaningful milestone, but for me, the real achievement is the trust clients place in us every day.

As the business continues to grow, my focus remains the same as it was on day one: delivering independent advice, building lasting relationships, and helping clients achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
