2014 has been a challenging year, and as it draws to a close we did want to wish our Members, and our other professional colleagues all the very best for the holiday season. Tomorrow, there will be two fewer family members sitting around the table at lunchtime, but we remind ourselves that the original Christmas story is one of journeys, arrivals as well as departures. As financial planners, our job is to prepare our clients for their own journeys, as well as taking seriously the implications of those departures, as and when they happen.
As I write this, my thoughts about Christmas Day are largely those of expectation. The Christmas break is a good opportunity to anticipate the challenges of 2015, to think ahead and make our plans for making the best of the year ahead. In our December edition of PracticeBuilder, we have sought to help anticipate some of the huge opportunities that dedicated financial-planners should be able to leverage in 2015 to their clients', and their own, significant advantage. We have also planned out a programme of workshops which are intended to equip advisers in that respect.
